Chapter Six: The Aftermath
Sophia stumbled out of the Owusu residence, her mind reeling with the events of the past few hours. She had failed to save the twins, and now they were gone, taken by the entity into a realm of darkness and terror.
As she walked back to her car, Sophia couldn't shake the feeling of guilt and responsibility that weighed heavily on her shoulders. She had underestimated the entity's power, and now the twins were paying the price.
Sophia drove back to her office, her mind racing with thoughts of what she could have done differently. She spent the rest of the day researching, trying to find a way to rescue the twins and banish the entity back to the depths of hell.
But as the sun began to set, Sophia realized that she was in over her head. She needed help, and she needed it fast.
She picked up the phone and dialed a number, one that she had been hesitant to call until now.
"Father Michael," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. "I need your help."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Father Michael's voice came through, calm and reassuring.
"Sophia, what's going on?"
Sophia took a deep breath and told Father Michael everything, from the twins' possession to the entity's escape.
When she finished, Father Michael was silent for a moment.
"Sophia, we need to get to the bottom of this," he said finally. "I'll meet you at the church at midnight. We'll perform a ritual to try and rescue the twins and banish the entity."
Sophia nodded, feeling a sense of hope for the first time in hours.
"Thank you, Father Michael," she said. "I'll see you at midnight."
As Sophia hung up the phone, she felt a sense of determination wash over her. She was going to rescue the twins, no matter what it took.
And as she walked out of her office, ready to face whatever lay ahead, Sophia knew that she would never give up.
