Angela's Gift

CHAPTER ONE

Angela's mother burst into her room, "Wake up, Angela! It's morning already!" But Angela didn't stir. Her mother approached her bed and shook her gently. Angela finally sat up, but fell back onto the bed, covering her eyes.

"Mom, everywhere is dark," Angela said, her voice trembling.

Her mother's expression changed from annoyance to concern. "What do you mean, Angela? It's almost 8:30 a.m., and the sun is shining."

Angela wiped her eyes, hoping to clear her vision, but the darkness persisted. "I don't know, Mom. I just can't see anything."

Her mother's voice rose in alarm. "Angela, you're not blind! You're just trying to avoid school!"

But Angela insisted, "Mom, I'm serious! I can't see anything!"

Her father, Mr. Christian, entered the room, "What's going on here?"

Angela's mother explained, "Angela says she can't see."

Mr. Christian's expression turned from confusion to concern. "Let's take her to the hospital."

At the hospital, Doctor Matthew examined Angela and announced, "There's nothing physically wrong with her eyes, but...she might not be able to see again."

Angela's parents were devastated, but Angela remained calm, "God will restore my sight when the time is right."

That night, Angela had a dream. A figure appeared, claiming to be Mother Jezebel, and offered to restore Angela's sight if she served her. But Angela refused, "I serve the one true God, and He will give me back my sight."

The next morning, Angela felt an urge to visit the Thompsons. She walked to their house, using her stick, and met Mr. Thompson outside.

"Good morning, Mr. Thompson," Angela said.

Mr. Thompson was startled. "Angela, how did you know it was me? I thought you were blind!"

Angela replied, "God knows you better than I do. I have a message for you and your family."

Mr. Thompson scoffed, "What nonsense! Get out of my house, blind witch!"

But Angela stood firm, "I'm just a messenger. Your son, Trust, will die if he goes out for the next three days. You and your wife must fast and pray for him."

Mrs. Thompson and Trust emerged, and Angela walked away, leaving the Thompsons to ponder her words.
